Hi all,

I have had my Core i7 920 D0 overclocked to 4ghz for just over 11 months now. I recently had a BSOD when I was playing black ops so I decided to install the latest ATI drivers 10.12 and all seems to be fine.

However, it was playing on my mind that maybe my overclock has become unstable and it appears it has. I thought I would do a quick run on Linx, full memory, for 5 runs and it only made it through 3. It said it had stopped with errors after 12 mins so I didn't get a bsod.

Is it possible my cpu will need more Vcore or vtt or even both? Currently got Vcore set to 1.277 with LLC on and at 100% load, testing, Vcore jumps to 1.31/2.

Vtt is set to 1.25 and drops to 1.24/3 when 100% load. Since I overclocked my CPU I have had another PSU, although the replacement is the same as my last PSU, could that have any effect on my Overclock?

Hope someone can advise me as I really don't want to spend weeks testing again like last time.

Thanks,

RoEy

why don't you try different voltages and see?

maybe your chip is degrading faster than expected? who knows...

tbh your vcore isn't exactly high, so up it a bit

No the temps are fine, mid to high 60's when running Linx. It's under water so shouldnt be a problem.

I'll have a play.

Just raised vtt to 1.275 and it failed after 2 runs this time. I'll drop that back down and raise vcore. Can't believe I'm having to do this. Only had it 11 months and it's been under water the whole time with good temps.

Raised vcore to 1.285 and when 100% usage with Linx it goes to around 1.32/33 and ocasionally 1.34.

It passed 20 runs on all in Linx. Temps were 74 69 71 64 in realtemp but everest said they were 72 72 68 68, that's with a 4870x2 in the same loop also.

Anyway just glad it passed. It may have had something to do with changing the PSU or it may have slighly degraded, I don't think I'll ever know.
