Hi All,

My pc has started to freeze and bluescreen a lot more recently and wonder if it could be the motherboard starting to fail.

What is a good motherboard to replace this one with? I know at the time this was the budget one and was lucky to get a stable clock.

My plan is to replace the gfx card next month to give the pc a refresh so would like a motherboard which will allow me to get to the magic 5ghz again (ideally with better heatsinks) and keep the pc going for another couple of years before a complete overhaul.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply, I have the following PSU:

Corsair Builder Series CX 600W V2 '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

I guess I could try the thermal paste but temps on the CPU aren't too bad.

When I purchased the system I went for the cheaper motherboard option knowing full well due to the cooling I would be really pushing it getting the cpu to 5ghz hence why I am thinking this is the problem.

Looking at changing to an AMD480.

Ideally budget would be as cheap as possible so possibly second hand, but at a push around £100.
