Overclock suddenly artifacting.

My overclock on my 290 has suddenly become unstable and begun to artifact almost immediately after starting BF4. It has been rock solid up until now, on BF4 and other games. I even tried lowering it and it's still artifacting. It's ok on stock, but as soon as I overclock I get artifacts.

My OC is:

+50mV
+50% PL
1125/1450

GPU, VRM1 and VRM2 all stay < 60c.

Why could it have suddenly become unstable? I'm sorely tempted to RMA it unless anyone can shed some light.

When you say artifacting, is that like pretty lights or white snow on the screen? Or is it black/grey triangles?

Black tearing and black and grey triangles (combined to make a square).

That would be memory unstable. Knock the memory OC off and you will be fine

I shall give it a try and report back. This 290 memory certainly isn't as stable as it was on my 7970. At 1500+ it just black screens!

It's not the memory, I wound it back 50mhz a go restarting the PC after each artifact. It's now on stock and still doing it.

It is memory bud. Sounds like you will need to RMA.

I get black tearing on core clocks too occasionally if they're too high. If it's doing it at stock it's definitely defective though memory or otherwise. At 50mv you're hardly likely to damage it so it's just sods law I'd say.
