I have recently built a budget pc for my two boys, I have a e6550 cpu which is playing ball and i can get it overclocked to 3ghz which is 430x7 on a Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2L which I am very pleased about.
The only concern I have is the ram which is 800mhz ram and being value ram and that i have changed the voltage from 1.8 to 1.9 to run at 860mhz is not a long term overclock as it being value ram I have visions of it frying.
So my question is, is value ram something that can be overclocked safely or will it have a very short life span with being overclocked. Or should I just stick to 400x7 for the 2.8ghz and keep ram at 1.8 and on 800mhz and not risk it for that extra 200mhz on the cpu.
Ram is rendition ram if that means much
thank you
