Overclock with BCLK hurting anything?

So, I tried around various things with my i7 920 to get higher speeds out of it and I think I've found the perfect setup now with the Gigabyte by pushing up the BCLK (if that's what it was called?) from 133 to 160 and then swapping the memory multiplier manually to 10.0 so they're still at 1600MHz. So now it's at 3.20GHz :)

This seems to work fine and temps don't go above 60 still under heavy use, was running 3 WoW clients for over an hour in windowed mode fully stable.

3DMark11 Physics score improved from ~5k to ~8k and in general everything seems a lot faster and smoother.

I'm new to overclocking stuff from this century, so is there anything I should be checking/changing now still? I didn't touch any other settings than those two mentioned. Am I unknowingly currently burning up something? :p

I'm not familiar with your motherboard but you should be able to get more than 3.2 out of a 920.

I'm fiddling around with my own atm after I had to replace the motherboard and I'm getting 4GHz (20x200 bclk) prime stable 8hrs+ (it runs a bit warm but nothing too frightening).

Don't know if the Gigabyte will be happy with a bclk that high but it sounds like you have plenty of headroom for further tinkering.

Hi m8, these are my settings for my i7920 - x58 UD5, so use them as a guide, as always you overclock at your own risk, as for temps below 70oC Max
