Overclocked 9.1 Ghz ?

Quick phone up intel, they will pay a lot of money if you can overclock their chips to 9.1GHz (especially on air). :D

You'd need a cpu-z verification at the least though, realtemp just isn't going to cut it

Needless to say, your chip is not at 9.1 ghz.

there was a post like this a few days ago where sombody had a 13ghz processor lol. Just a bug with real temp, apparently they know about it and should be fixed soon

On a related note, CPU-Z seemed to think my CPU multiplier was ocassionally dropping to 8x, 5x and 3x yesterday. I'm pretty sure that i7s can only drop to 12x so even CPU-Z isn't that reliable.

On the plus side, RealTemp sees my CPU at a constant 12x at idle rather than what it used to show, which was random fluctuations usually between 16x and 18x. :p

Isn't that Intel Speedstep lowering the clock speed to reduce energy consumption and heat out put?

Although I don't own a i7 setup, I've read that it can on occasion go down much lower than x12. It's possible that x12 is the standard and it only goes lower when it's not doing anything.
