Tl:dr, looking for good quality PSU recommendations for overclocked skylake cpu/and a single GTX 980ti, want to keep it sub £100 if possible:

I've been reading very mixed recommendations for PSUs for use with a 980Ti, one PC component comparison site said my system would use 470w, an online psu calc said 715w. Visiting various forums I'm seeing recommendations varying from 550w to 850w. I installed the card into my similar spec (to below) Ivy Bridge PC and it performed well in benchmarks and stress tests on my XFX Pro 550w.

I always get so frustrated looking for PSUs :D

i5 6600k @ 4.5
Kingston Savage Hyper-x DDR4 2400MHz 16GB (2x8)
1x M.2, 2X SSD, 1X 7200RPM 2TB HDD, External 5TB USB 3 HDD
Palit GTX 980Ti Jetsream - Will be overclocked
Kraken x61 Watercooler
LED Lighting
A few case fans

A good 550W would be enough, 650W for a little overhead. If you already have the XFX 550W, keep it

For that budget these would be my choices, sure you can run it on lower wattage but for the price difference it's not worth the savings imo

Corsair RM Series RM750X '80+ Gold' 750W Modular Power Supply (CP-9020092-UK)= £96.95
Seasonic S12G-750 750W '80 Plus Gold' Power Supply= £96.95
Super Flower Leadex Platinum 650W Fully Modular "80 Plus Platinum" Power Supply - Black= £98.99
XFX XTR Series 750W 80 Plus Gold Fully Modular Power Supply= £94.99

A 600w would work fine but for your budget and the price differences might as well go with the above

Your XFX has a 528w 12v rail so should be more than enough. The site that suggests 715w must be for SLI 980ti. There is no way a single card setup will get anywhere near that. Remember that most reviews give total system power draw at the wall so the power that the psu will be delivering to the components will be less. I doubt if your total system power draw will even hit 400w at the wall.

Thanks for the feedback guys, decided to see how I get along with my trusty XFX 550w for now.

My system with OC 4770k at 4.3Ghz/1.175V and GTX 980 ti at 1495/2000mhz/1.225V uses around 450W max in-game (Witcher 3), and that's with an almost 9 years old psu that has an approx efficiency of 80% .
