Ok so i've overclocked my i5 750 to 3.4 which has been fine but i've also overclocked my asus 5850 to 795/1170 on stock volts ran ati tool for around an hour and all was fine so went to play css, portal, mw2 7 bc2 and i get worse frames than before. I mean noticeable i don't have a fps o meter up but its sluggish.

Psu is tagan 900 watt
mobo is p55-us3l

thanks

Clock your graphics RAM back to stock settings and try again. The RAM on your card error corrects to stay stable so if you have clocked it past breaking point its error correcting is slowing your card down.

Check you system properties to see how much RAM is displayed in Windows.
If you haven't given your CPU, CPU Vtt or RAM enough volts you may have lost half.

It still says 4gb, maybe it would be worth upping the volts a tiny bit?

i'm open to suggestions!

TY

Heh, this happened to me as well.

The score in my signature is the highest I've benchmarked.

When I tried again at 4.2GHz I got about 1K points less o.0

Of course I can't be bothered running a heavy overclock when I'm on nothing more hardcore than the source engine - CSS/TF2/L4D and perhaps some strategy games. How many hundreds of FPS do I need after all :)

Could be a problem, more likely problem is your ram overclock on gpu, try a lower one, as most find it stable at 1150, but the core a around 850-900
