Overclocked Bundle - 8 or 16 GB RAM?

Granted 8Gb is enough for virtually everything just now, other than very specific purposes (VM), but......

.... personally I'd say if you have the £60 to spare why not spend it and get 16Gb. I can't see DDR3 prices falling much more than they have already and 2x8Gb DIMMS will leave 2 spare slots on your mobo if you ever want more in future. Plus when devs finally more to next-gen (XB1.PS4) console development only they both have 8Gb of RAM so by the time you add the overhead of running full windows you'll likely need 16Gb within the next 2-3 years anyway.

8 Gb is plenty, but...

If you start multitasking youd be suprised how much ram you are using...

currently firefox is using 1.6 GB lol

many many tabs, with youtube etc open... most i got was 7 GB total comp usage before chrome crashed lol

reboot felt nice ;)

16gb for me. Can use well over 4gb with just a browser and a few bits open. Ram isn't the most expensive thing ever so it won't hurt.

Not using all 16GB generally but I've seen over 8GB usage a fair bit (I also hit way over 8GB running multiple eve clients but that is another story).

You don't generally need more than 8GB for general use + gaming but if your a power user and the price isn't too much higher I'd go for it.

8GB is going to seem pretty small in 12-18 months - 8GB has been common since about 2011. But the board has 4 RAM slots so you could just pop a couple more sticks in there when the time comes.

What do you base that on?
