hi

just recently got a overclocked bundle at 4ghz however on boot it shows as 3.8 but windows shows as 2.67 i have also tried cpu-z which shows specification as 920 @ 2.67? is it actually running at the overclocked speed or lower? thanks

What multiplier was cpu-z showing?

Run Prime to double check, it may be speed step enabled.

ok if you have enabled the saved bios youll have the right speed. is the turbo on ?

also it will throttle down when its not doing anything to normal speed but go to full speed as soon as you open something ;)

try running something and checking speed.

also good idea to copy down the actual settings incase you wipe it or upgrade bios .

the multiplier is showing as 12x

i've exported the profile settings oc have set for me to my usb drive incase anything happens etc in the bios this shows as 3.82 should it not be at 4ghz?

You have speedstep enabled, run Prime or some other stress test program and the multiplier should increase, the 4ghz may be with turbo enabled, raises to 21 multiplier instead off 20 when needed.

Edit: What bundle did you get?

I got the ex58-udg 2.66 @ 4ghz 6gb and h50 water cooler bundle

yep your right opened two copies of prime and ran cpu-z again showing core speed 4011 with a multiplier of 21x

haha yep its my first time with all this overclocking and water cooling still getting used to it all :-) only issue i have to sort really now is resuming from sleep taking forever then i'll be all sorted lol
