Good morning, I received the above product yesterday - booted it first time with brand new hard drives. Turned it on for the first time and received an error message in the bios about overclocking failure, all settings have been reset and the values in the bios do not currently represent the actual settings.

Once Windows was installed I saw that everything has been reset to default.

I've contacted Overclockers about this but was wondering if there's anything I can try in the mean time? As the entire point of this is so I wouldn't have to spend my nights and weekends watching stress-test programs.

Thanks.

Hi, thanks for the reply - noticed the Customer Service forum at the bottom so posted there (assuming you can see the thread)

Tried loading the OCUK profile with no success - POST says 4.0ghz, Windows/CPUZ says 2.66. :(

I'm hardly an expert, but are you checking under load what your cpu speed is? A lot of newer cpus underclock while not being used as a power saving feature.

I believe it is called 'Enhanced Intel SpeedStep Technology' and it basically lowers the multiplier while the cpu is idle.

Seems reapplying the profile did work - just forgot about the SpeedStep feature. I ran into the exact same problem when trying to overclock my Q6600 a few years ago.

Massive thanks - wonder why it wiped the settings in the first place?

Just rebooted for a software installs and just in an endless reboot cycle.

I here POST beep, see gigabyte screen, goes black, reboot. Can't get into BIOS either.

Anything I can do that will allow me to keep the OCUK profile but set every else back to default?
