Clock Speed 2.6 GHz
Bus/Core Ratio 13
FSB Speed 800 MHz
VID Voltage Range 0.8500V-1.3625V
You say 305 x 8 in bios. Stock is 200 x 13. DDR2 8500 runs at 1066
so maybe it is running ram at 10:3 ratio to give 305 x 10 / 3 = 1016MHz
The CPU may have originally been set at 305 x 10.5 = 3200MHz.
Starting from scratch if above multi does not work
I would start in the bios with reducing the bus clock back to 250 ish. Then start the multi at 10x and go up in 0.5x multi steps until it wont boot. Keep an eye on ram speeds at each iteration. When overclocking the CPU I would reduce the ram speed to 800 ish to make sure that is not causing failure to boot.
Step back to previous good boot multi and then you can increase the bus clock from 250 in small steps. Again reviewing ram.
You can increase the Cpu voltage up to the VID max above or a little more if you have good cooling
The 250GTS is a renamed 9800GTX+, which was a die shrunk and overclocked 9800GTX, which was a renamed and overclocked 8800GTS. So the will be a slight improvement due to he higher clock speeds but nothing massive.
