Hi, i just overclocked my amd 3500. It look a lot of time to get the courage to do it lol. I used easy tune and i am now at 2.3 ghz, tomorrow going to get to 2.4 ghz. Cpu z and other programmes confirm 2.3 ghz, but windows says im at 2.2 ghz. Why wont windows say 2.3 ghz?

drop with ldt multiplier down to 3x from 5x, increase the voltage on your ram and cpu, put a 166/200 divider on your ram, then up the fsb.

aye - easytune i imagine is probably setting your clock speeds after windows loads.. this means that when windows is loading your at your normal clock speed so it detects it as being that.. if everything says your on 2.3ghz sounds right

Good luck - if you got a good chip there and good cooling might be able to clock it to 2.5 / 2.6ghz maybe... best of luck, keep us updated :D

yea im on a q tec lol. In feb or march im going to do a big upgrade and a new psu is included :D. I dont really want to use the bios because it scares me lol. My 3500 is a clawhammer. I dont know if thats good or not and im using the stock cooiling. I might just stay at 2.3 ghz or maybe try for 2.4. My hands were shaking when upping the fsb in easytune. Yes im pathetic lol but i dont really want to destroy it.

put it this way - the only way to destroy it is run at really high temps or over volt mate :) if you push the FSB to far just reset the cmos (if you set fsb in bios) and restart.. if in easy tune i imainge you just hold CTRL or SHIFT as you login to windows.. thats how most apps work.. infact it will probably detect you crashed and revert to default anyway :)

all i need to do is load windows and it loads my last saved settings. Im only using the easy mode, all i can do is raise the fsb. Ive only raised it 5 atm dont know if i should do any more though. My comps only been on for 20 mins and temps atm are 36 degrees and all ive done is load cpu z and oc forum . Last night when my comp was on for about 8 hours and i had just ocd a bit temps were at 47 while comp was just sitting only on forums. Temps seem good to me :)
