Mother Asus P5k Deluxe
Memory 2 GB OCZ Reaper 1066 mhz

ok i have been in the bios and set my FSB to 333mhz and set my multiplier to 9

333 * 9 = 3.0 ghz

in the bios, POST, and my computer it is saying 3.0ghz but i have just installed CPU-Z and it says core speed is 2000mhz with the multiplier at 6 ??

i have disabled the speedstep option in the bios

is both e1st and c1e off? if not then speedstep is not disabled.

sorry if it is and the reply doesnt help but occationally there are some who thinks that only 1 of the above needs to be disabled to turn speedstep off

the only thing i turned off was the intel speedstep option i will have a look in bios now to see if i can see other options

turned off c1e and it is now showing as 3.0 ghz in cpu-z thanks a lot

what temperature's is classed as high? im gonna stress test it now

I think 70c is around your max temp.

What cooler etc you using?

I have nearly the same setup (E6600, P5K) & hoping for around 450x8 to get to 3.6ghz.

What are you using to get temps and stress test?

ok i just been playing cod4 for a good 40 mins and my temps are as follows core 0 - 45c core 1 44c

my cpu voltage is at 1.325

i am just using the stock heatsink and fan but i got lian li case

i am using coretemp to monitor the temps and i am going to use orthos for stress tests
