I'm really not sure on this one - so hopefully you guys can help
I have an overclocked E6600 - it maxes out at 3.2 gig odd before needing a ridiculous amounts of volts.
quite happy at 3.2 Gig though (still needs 1.4875 volts though (bios))
anyway - only problem is that my Corsair 6400 C5 can't keep up.
The only option I can use at 3.2 gig is 715 MHz (I think its around there) @ CAS4, 800MHz plus - the best the RAM can do is about 840 - which is pretty pants.
If I bought the 8500 Ballistix and went up to 2:3 multiplier for the RAM instead of 1:1 that I'm currently using - would I notice the difference in performance with the RAM now running at 1070MHz CAS5 - or does it look better on paper, than actually making that much difference real-world ?
thanks for any help,
Mark.
