I have the same setup as this but a different PSU. I have problems too and it only occurs in games. Anything else the system is spot on, in games the PC freezes and I get a sound loop for about 5 seconds. I thought it was a Steam/Valve problem but it does it in every game I play. Its definately a hardware/driver issue.

The Pc just crashed in the middle of a COD4 MW2 gaming session. Worked fine all weekend when i played for hours.

The screen froze, but i could hear everyone i had on skype. Then the monitor switched off and the pc fans stayed on.

I had to keep hold of the on button to switch the pc off.

the whocrashed report only has a previous error message from May.

back to the drawing board.

couldnt u just bring it all back to normal clocks and no overclocking and then test stability out in gaming/general use for a few days....

Then at least u know its the hardware and not software and possibly something else like the p/s ?

The PC runs fine on the normal settings.

I am going to purchase a new PSU this week:

or maybe even?

please advise.

Thank you.

go for the corsair if you can

if you have issues with your bundle - please post in customer support as i can pick it up quicker then trawling through the forums

i have ordered the Corsair HX 650W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-650HXUK) [CMPSU-650HXUK]

if it still crashes after that. i will take your offer up and contact you via customer support.

thanks.

that sounds like a display driver crashing

i am expecting delivery of the PSU next week.

just thought i would run FurMark 1.8.2

Ran it at resolution 1440x900 on the xtream burning mode for 16 minutes and got no error messages.

min temp = 52
max temp = 81
Current stable temp while running = 79

if it was a driver issue would it of crashed during this test?
