Hey all,

I recently went for some Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz RAM (c8 timings, 8-8-8-24) and whilst I love it, it annoyed me that I wasn't getting a perfect 7.9 in the Windows Experience Index as mentioned on various sites (got 7.7 at stock). Decided to see if I could push the score higher, so I manually locked the timings to 8-8-8-24 in the BIOS, and that got me 7.8, but that was my limit. I know my old G.Skill stuff was getting 7.8 and that was a running at c9 timings, so I was somewhat underwhelmed.

Until.. I changed the frequency to 1866 and BOOM!... 7.9.

I did have to pump the voltage to 1.55V (got a BSoD at stock 1.5V, but haven't tried anything lower as it seems stable). The big bonus is the timings are now 9-9-9-24, which is comparable to some other slower 1600MHz sets, but quicker than the stock 1866MHz set of 9-10-9-27. Overall, I'd say a job well done for 2 minutes work :D

Anyone got a similarly easy-going story?

(I realise the WEI score is meaningless and a poor benchmark for performance, but I am sad)
