Would it tell me in windows 7 if my I7 920 is overlcoked or would it just tell me the stock speed. Because ive brough an overclocked machined but in windows it says its running at stock speed.

Download CPU-Z then run a stress tester like OCCT, when the CPU is at 100% load - the current maximum clockspeed will be displayed.

If it is running at 2.66-2.8 GHz - then it is at stock speeds. If it goes over this, then it is overclocked.

Yeah if you ran CPU-Z, on the main page it would say "i7 920 bla bla" and bottom left would show the current clock speed!!
In Windows 7, go to System etc etc...where it shows all your details, it should say i7 920 2.66 @ 4.00Ghz for example! May have to run windows experience test first, but shouldnt have to :-) first guy solved it though! Im just being busy haha
