Lanparty Q8200 overclock causing reset only after complete power off
Hello
My motherboard : DFI Lanparty UT P45-T2RS

I have overclocked my Q8200 from 2.33 to 2.8. When i start my computer from a complete power down i.e. turned off at the mains the board hangs at the code '26' then auto restarts and boots up fine. If i just turn the computer off and dont cut it off from the mains it boots fine.

The code '26', according the the manual, is because

'Initilized wrong BIOS process. (Clock-gen circuit/super IO circuit).

If i remove the clock then it doesnt have this freeze/reset problem. I have no idea what to do to sort this problem, does anyone have a clue as to what to do?

Thanks.

If I shutdown, everything is fine. But, when it's been turned off at the mains, say due to a power cut or by having the mains switch turned off, it will boot then do an auto restart then boot again, with the overclock.

I'm pretty sure that's normal. :)

Not sure what yopu mean there? Are you saying you have the same problem with your overclock?

Maybe you didnt understand me fully.

If i shut my computer down (normally via windows) then unplug it from the mains i get the hang/reset at code '26' the next time i power up the computer. This problem is not seen if i shut down the computer (via windows) and start it again without unpluging it from the mains (after doing a normal shut down via windows).

Theres no catastrophic shut down involved in this - no power cut or loss of power.
