Hi guys,

I recently had a bit of bother with my bios and had to reconfigure my overclock from the ground up and now, with what I thought were the same settings as before, I get a failed boot about 1 in 4 :(

I press the power button and the power comes on, fan noise etc. but no monitor output and then the power drops out only to come back seconds later with a successful boot.

I've had this before with a different setup but in the same case, antec p182, but I don't think its case specific? I fixed the issue last time by upping a bios voltage (not the vcore) by about 0.2v but I can't remember which one it was :D

Any ideas?

Firstly i'd save your oc profile then load defaults and see if the problem persists.
2nd memtest your ram.
3rd load your oc profile and give your vcore a small voltage bump.

I just upped the PCH (?) from 1.0500v to 1.1000v - it was something like that that last time sorted it...

My vcore is 1.325v, RAM is 1.5v - I'll check out the other values later ;)

^^ Anything drastically amiss there? I keep upping the vcore, bit by bit, but I don't really want to go much higher :(

Thanks mate!

Will those settings not make the chip run at 100% all of the time though?

Yes, sorry, my mistake! No speedstep appears to be working fine with your settings ;)

Just gave my machine 40 minutes or so of prime and it was fine. Haven't seen my chip run this coll for ages... cheers!

it might do it once from cold, which is normal but shouldn't do it again once warm

usually a touch more dram voltage cures it

2 days later and your settings are working sweet mate, thanks!

Much lower temps too, so happy all round :D
