Hello,

I am having serious stability problems with my new system which I believe may be caused by my motherboard trying to very slightly o/c the RAM and it doesn't like it.

I was going to set the timings myself and I understand them to be 5 5 5 15 and 1.8v

When I go into my BIOS and see the option to manually set these timings there are a lot more options than just those 4 numbers:

tCL
tRCD
tRP
tRAS
tRFC
tWR
tWTR
tRRD
tRTP

Can anyone please help with what I should be putting in there ?

Whatever my mobo is reading off the memory using SPD is wrong. It should be 667, but is running at 680.

Thanks

Set the first four options to 5-5-5-15 respectively. You can leave the rest on Auto.

I can't see an extra 13mhz making any difference to stability. If they're still unstable after setting the timings, set the vdimm to 1.9v.

Hi,

Sorry to bump this, but the problems are ongoing. Some people have suggested bumping my memory voltage to 2.1v. Does anyone know if this RAM can safely run at this voltage ? I'm not looking to overclock the RAM - just trying to get a stable system.

Thanks

Thanks Cob. Have decided to buy 2 kits of that GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel stuff in the hope that I will finally get a stable PC. Have now had this setup for a few months now and it's never been anywhere near as stable as my old setup. I don't know what to blame tbh. It could be drivers for Vista, but the sheer amount of invalid memory references (I hope) would mean that my motherboard just hates the ocuk ram.

I am very happy to say that my new RAM has solved all my crashing problems. All I can summise from this is either the overclockers RAM was bad, or my motherboard really hated it.

Cost a lot, but finally sorted.
