Overclockers branded value cards

stock clocks and 1 year warrenty are the catches. The cards are made by a generic company that makes the reference board design (wchich a lot of cards are anyway) and then ocuk and other companies buy up that stock and brand it as theirs.
There is nothing wrong with them, and generally a good buy. If you want a long warrenty though get a bfg(10 yr)/evga(10yr)/zotac(5yr + covers replacing the cooler) one.

The catch is basically that the the card will not be a main brand such as Sapphire or Powercolor, which means the warranty support may not be very good. OCUK sell a variety of manufacturer's cards as 'Value' - I've seen Sparkle, ECS and TwinTech.

I bought a OCUK Value 9800GX2 and it was made by TwinTech; I'd never heard of them and their website had nowhere to submit an RMA query so I'm glad it never went wrong!

Basically it's up to you whether you want to risk a lesser known brand.

Thanks for the replies guys...surely if its branded oc uk then if anything went wrong they would be liable to resolve it?

Well it won't be branded OCUK; OCUK don't have anything to do with the cards themselves other than calling them 'OCUK Value'. The cards are actually from the smaller, lesser known vendors so the warranty lies with them iirc.
