Overclockers have shown their hand. QX6800 ***!

I have to agree with you. 822 Pounds is so stupid as to be frightening. I dont care if people are enthusiasts, when you get to that sort of money, people who buy it either need their head examined or inheritance tax to be raised :p

Course im jealous, but I cant see the point of 200mhz more and a extra 380 pounds on top of 500 pounds (qx6700)

p.s anyone know why when I use the pounds symbol it gives me # instead. Was working earlier

Totally agree stupid money for not a massive benefit over the qx6700 - which imo was overpriced anyway!

As for your # problem, i had exactly the same one earlier, think its something to do with holding down shift+ctrl and pressing something, which you may have done by accident!

I got a friend that rakes in tons and tons of cash, so i think he will get one.. there are people with wads of cash in this country! Have so many K's in the bank that 800 quid aint much for them :)

its because your keyboard is set to US layout, just go to language options, and change everything to UK instead of US

If I had the cash spare I'd consider it.

There'll always be rich idiots out there, and I want to be one of them :D
Nice one :)

I wouldn't agree that anyone who has a load of money is an idiot though, I also wouldn't brand anyone who buys one of these an idiot, some people have just got a large disposable income and they want the best, I mean why would people buy a £100K Aston-Martin when there are far cheaper alternatives, why would anyone buy their own private jet to travel in when they could fly in a jumbo jet with a few hundred people on there package holidays?

Its a top end CPU and carries with it a top end price tag, some people have spent days/weeks/months/years becoming versed in overclocking skills so there are able to take a much cheaper processor and make it run as fast or faster than the current flagship product . . . .

. . . . thing is on the other side of the coin, some people have spent days/weeks/months/years working on their business and concentrating on making their next million

SO at the end of the day who is the idiot, the guy who spent a large slice of his time learning to overclock to save a measly £100-£600 on his personal computer, or the guy that spends his time making hundreds of thousands of pounds but perhaps overspends by a few hundred quid on his computer! :D

somw people in this world make lots and lots of money so they will spend that money on lots and lots of expensive things. Basic economcs.

People who dont make so much money will be moderate things or if they are stupid then buy extravagent items and put them on various credit cards only to worry later.

If i had lots and lots of money, then i would be buying lots of expensive things. You cant call these people stupid. Wheather they are getting riped off is irrelevant as it is their disposable income which will be replaced by a few hours of work or even by the monthly interest on their bank balance.

Personally, an idiot to me is someone who has lots of money but just lets it pile up in his account. FFS spend it, thats what it is therefore. You aint going to be taking it with you! Spend it on the latest technology or get a room in some 5 star hotel, order afew bottles of champagne and call up a few sexy call girls and live it up!

you make me feel a very stupid overclocker, cause I can overclock very well my PC,but I can´t make a "million" :D

only way to do it, is if i win the "EuroMillions"(european lottery) :p
eheheh

Well its a question of 'priority'

If all you do is think about overclocking then your not thinking about anything else, if you stop thinking about overclocking so much and think instead about how to make some money you may be suprised what you can achieve! ;)

I didn't say all rich people were idiots, nor did I say that I didn't have the cash...I meant I didn't have the spare cash because I'd far rather put my disposable cash towards something worthwhile like property and other investments :) I totally agree on your point about the rich / overclocker comparison.
