Memory Issue

EDIT: ok

Here's the problem, my memory in the BIOS i've noticed says its running at 1338 MHZ , i thought something had been installed wrong but it hasn't, i just checked that, as the clocks are also showing at 9 9 9 28.

i have the OCZ 1600 Mhz 3 Gb kit.

Explain the mistake they've made, they may offer a small refund (perhaps the faster memory was out of stock?) or will say you can send your machine back. Or will send out the memory you were supposed to get if you send yours back?

Just plucking ideas from the air there though, so don't hold me to anything!

How long have you had it?

Generally no shop talk is allowed here mate, but you can reach them through webnotes as well if you want.

Sorry I couldn't be any more help.

I've RTM'd the thread since it goes against the forum rules.

Try downloading something like Everest or CPUz, either of those should tell you the speed of the chips whilst your in windows.

Might make it easier to identify whats happened, whether it's a mistake on your part or theirs.

update.

I feel like a a prat now, eh still, it's late, i didnt think to check it first. I cant rename the thread?....

anyways...

it says its running at 1338 Mhz in BIOS.

What multiplier is the Ram on & what clock is your CPU at ?
If it's overclocked the ram may need to be underclocked to achieve the stability you have.
It is 1.40am though & I am struggling just to type let alone think.
Just ring them first thing they are like quick draw magraw with the phones.

it's at 3.40ghz i'm not sure what the multiplier is, i think il go sleep before i blame overclockrs for anything else, should have waitied till morning.

Haha good call mate.

Have a good play around with the system in the morning and make sure you know whats going on, then drop OcUK a quick phone call to take things further if you want.

They're quick on the phones like malc said, you're in Stoke-on-trent too... so you could walk/drive down to OcUK and have a chat with them if you have too :p

Hope you get it sorted!
