Hey, my first post here. I'm looking at a pre-made gaming computer at a reasonable price (~£500) since I wouldn't have a clue how to build one. It should play all new games with maxed out graphics (or near abouts) and should keep up for the next few years at least.

As you'll know, this has been a hard search. What I have found is the desktop above noted at the following link:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-322-OE&groupid=43&catid=2385&subcat=1270

(with selected Sapphire 7770 HD gpu as, from the research I've done, it appears to have the upper hand on the GTX 650 OC power ed)

With a Intel Core i7 2700K 3.50GHz (quad core) processor, at £570 it seems an extremely good deal. Infact, I cant find a desktop with anywhere near these specs for <£900. This leads me to wonder, why is it so cheap?

The post is labelled urgent because they have a deal on which is only on for a week. Not sure when it ends, but it might well be tonight since it's Sunday night. Therefore, I'd appreciate a response asap greatly!

In summation, do you think this is a good gaming system which can handle the games of today at top graphics (and the next few years, before I'd have to make some upgrades). Furthermore, any explanation as to why it's so cheap?

Thanks, appreciate it, please respond tonight if you can!

It won't play at top graphics for the few year, it will struggle too now. Lacking in the graphics card really. You'd be looking to spend about 1k+ for that. Overall it will be a good system but if you want real high end you need to spend a whole lot more!

Oliver, I might ask to swap to a 2500k and upgrade GPU, would this stay around the same price? And are OC okay with making swaps like this?

As for the basket, I wouldnt have a clue where to start (assuming youre inferring i should build?)

Just on the off-chance, if the deal says 'this week only' - do you think it may end tonight? If this is the case, I won't be able to ask for the processor/gpu swap, right?

ahh, Philly - do you think swapping the i7 2700k for the i7 2500k in order to upgrade the 7770 to the 7850 would be a good idea for gaming? Money wise it seems similar.

any other opinions?

can't really change stuff on pre-built unless it's in the options. Else you might as well select another pre-built.

Offers end wednsday lunchtime usually.

Oliver - the system is made to order - so I believe i am able to make small changes since it isnt actually pre-built?

ah ok, then yes.

EDIT : Sorry, you mean a Titan Exodus, or a complete custom build?

The Exodus has a H61 motherboard, which means no overclocking. Weird they put a 2700K in there. I suppose you can always swap out the motherboard.

Titan exodus. It's 'made to order', and it says at the bottom of the description:

Note - If you would like to make a small change to the specification call our sales team on 0871 200 5052 and they will be happy to help.

also with regards to i5 2500k and i5 3570k the new ivy 3570k is the same price but faster than the 2500k

It's around 7½% more expensive and typically performs less than 7½% better clock for clock.

At stock speeds a 3570K might be around 7½% better performance.

And a 2500K overclocks 7½% higher :D

IMO, they wouldn't do that, but you won't know until you talk to the customer service. You want a CPU change, and another GPU option. That's a lot to ask but you never know.

Note that they had a 2700K on offer for £200, so I doubt they would be willing to swap out a 2700K + HD7770 for a 2500K + HD7850.
