Krypton Rampage Extreme Intel Core i7 950 3.06GHz @ 4.00GHz Overclocked Bundle
also with 470 asus Gcard
I got this yesterday trying to play games on it an get blue screen i have checked bios an its loaded the oc-uk profile but still fails.

I installed cpuz an its says 4009mhz then give it 20secs its drops to about 1923 or something. anyway so i disabled speed step cos someone said try that an its holds its mhz at 4009mhz again.

But still when i play games it blue screens.

Anyway i was hope in not to have to do all this :( thats why i paided more for overclocking to be done. but if you can help me now i will be happy :)

Thanks

Turn speed step back on, its lowering to 1923 because your system isnt doing anything. It will rise again as it needs it. You might want to take a look at the temps in Realtemp, also are the graphics card drivers up to date?

Woah, back off there, 1.5 vcore is way to high on an i7, 1.4 is the max reccomended for an i7, and you shouldnt need anywhere near that for a 4ghz oc.

First thing you do is contact OCUK and tell them about your situation mate. You do not, I repeat not want to have your system running 24/7 at 1.5 volts.

The system is still under their warranty. Use the pretty good support infrastructure that OCUK have mate. Please.

I have read your post guys thanks for info...

It was overclocker-uk that told me to up it to that when i rang them when it dint work anyway.
Now i understand abit more im going to lower it from what it was when it failed an make it high till stable..

Again thanks all

I might disappear, but thats absolutely terrible advice to tell you to try 1.5v, it might be in the temporarily 'safe-ish' range but on air cooling at 4Ghz theres no way you'll keep temps at bay and any reasonable load would run it to tjmax rather quickly (something like intel burntest might jam it to 100C in under 10 seconds lol).

700watt coolmaster silent pro

1.33750 was default that i was given when i got the overclocked bundle this dint work when on black ops it blue screened.
Rang OC'S told them was voltage was he then told me to put it at 1.5

then read your post's an i have put it now way back down to 1.35000 that is running fine. I do get random fps drops to 0 maybe every 45mins ish not sure if thats anything to do with this yet.

But will try next voltage up if it still happens

1.33750 is better, but you should always be aiming to get the vcore voltage as low as possible, this helps to cut load temps down.
