Hi guys,

Just trying to overclock my 2500k currently running at 4.7Ghz with a voltage of around 1.37Vcore

Running intel burn test the temperatures did peak at 80C on one core, however they have since gone down a bit

Now i know most of you will say you dont like going over 75 etc, but seeing as its intel burn test and that pushed temps up a lot further than you would ever see normally, would this be alright?

cheers

EDIT: its actually hitting 80 on prime too :/

mine hits the mid-high 80s in prime. 98c is TJ Max, it is recommended you stay 15c below that, so thats 83c. obvs i wouldnt want it hitting that during normal usage, mine is normally around 64c whilst gaming.
how long have you prime/IBT tested it to make sure its stable?

ok yeh well i hope it wont hit that high with normal use! gonna run it for 8 hours or so, currently been running for about 15 mins on prime

Just tried to run at 4.8ghz and it was weird because i managed to run prime for about an hour. Then I went out for the evening and this morning when i came home it had BSOD'ed so i booted it up again to run prime to see how long i could get it to run, and it BSOD'ed immediately :/

Anyways have dropped it down to 4.7Ghz again.

One thing is I have the CPU PLL set to 1.84V (apparently the safest max is 1.9) but i read somewhere that a lower PLL voltage willl enable higher overclocks? is this true?

cheers
