I finally got around to overclocking my 2600k today just to see what it can do.

Anyway set voltage to 1.35 / pushed mem back to 800mhz and managed to get her to 4.7ghz (I can get into windows at 4.8 but prime crashes after 10 mins)

Will be doing more tests this week as I have updated the BIOS of my asus deluxe z77 in the hope it will now support flashed 6950s in 6970 mode as I have 2 in crossfire. Really strange I know its not the cards as they work fine as 6970s on my 1055t with asus sabretooth mb.

What kind of temperatures are you getting under prime95 at 4.7ghz? That's important to know before you try to go higher. You can get away with a little bit more than 1.35v on sandybridge, but you probably wouldn't want to if the temps are too high (70-80 is a safe-ish full load temperature for sandybridge I believe).

Also, when you say 800mhz, do you mean 1600mhz effective, or are you actually only getting 800mhz? On a multiplier unlocked processor like yours, you shouldn't need to play with the RAM to overclock the CPU, just set it to whatever it's meant to be unless you want to overclock the RAM specifically. Are you just changing the multiplier?
