overclocking 3770k first time

so i just did it.

upped multiper for 42 (only want 4.2ghz)

turned off turbo mode and eist

left voltage on auto, to see what it gives and it goes between 1.192 and 1.2

is this ok or should i try a lower core? if so what is safe to try as lower vcore?

That Vcore is safe. Im sure it can handle 4.2 on Normal volts.. (Stock voltage).. If not just up it a little.

i watched the vcore under load it stayed at 1.128 so i set 1.130 for safety currently running 1.120 nicely on prime 95

so 4.2ghz was stable at 1..128

i would like to hit 4.5 for my final oc

tried 4.4 @ 1.140 which got into windows but priome95 failed

tried 4.5 @ 1.170 and it didn't get into windows

do you think i should try higher?? or stay at 4.2

yh aslong as temps are ok,you can try lower but I doubt it will be stable,might need even more depends on each cpu

cheers guess it depends if the performance is worth it. highest temperture at 4.2ghz is 40c at the moment

so my stable results so far:

4.2 @ 1.128 [stock max temp 65c]
4.5 @ 1.184 [max temp 71c]

didn't like upping the vcore, little scared of killing it. so got this

4.3ghz @ 1.04 stable so far [max temp 55c]

What is your llc set at?

Thats still well within safe limits, and temps are ok. You wont see temps that high in normal use.
