I am new to overclocking and need some basic advice. I can't stand to read through pages and pages of dribble to get to the bit I need. I basically know increase multiplayer and then adjust untill you get the right vcore voltage.

Basically I need a quick summary of what to do. I am aiming for around 4,5ghz or less.

Thanks,

james

On my system I just upped the multi to 45 for a 4.5ghz clock under load.

I left the volts on auto (I should note my board didn't go crazy with auto - volts, it chose 1.32, from my later tests that seemed about right for 100% stability).

I set the RAM to use XMP profile 1 - which is just standard non-overclocked speeds.

I left all the power saving features on because I see no reason to waste electricity for no good reason.

Tricky thing is keeping the temperatures down, it hits about 70c running all cores 100% load but I'm satisfied with that.

I know I have a different board but it may help for a starting point. Just watch what auto volts is doing, some boards it goes higher than necessary.

I am no expert, just a lazy over-clocker who wants a stable system without too much effort.
Good luck !
