First of all i am new to the forum so this question has probably been asked several times however i know this is the place to come for help.

I want to overclock my 4770k to 4.3 (max) i dont want to push it too far but from what ive heard 4.3 should be reasonable, however i have never done it before so i would like some help on programs to use that will make my life easy.

Also if there is any specific numbers/calculations anyone can give me that ofcourse will be awesome.

My build

i7 4770k 3.5Ghz
Corsair H80i (stock, Push pull)
z87 Sabertooth 1150
EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX
EVGA GTX 780 SC ACX
Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 1866MHz
Corsair RM850 80+ GOLD
WD 3TB RED
Corsair Force GT 120GB

Again thanks in advance! :)

Hi Ryan,
Try this little lot for starters:
vCore: 1.20v
Multiplier/Turbo ratio 43 (press Enter afterwards!)
Ring/Cache voltage to 1.175v
System agent voltage +0.200v offset (In my experience, improves overall stability- RAM related I think.)
Load-line (LLC) to extreme- doesn't make too much difference on Haswell, so give it the beans...

Leave everything else on auto for now.
If it won't boot, or Windows BSODs, up the vcore to 1.22 and try again.
These are the settings I used at 4.3gig, and it worked perfectly.

As for software, you need Coretemp, CPU-Z, and Prime95 to start with. Perhaps Intel Burn Test as well.

Do all your overclocking in the BIOS- don't use a Windows-based tweaker suite!

Hi Ryan

As above use those settings, one thing I would say from the above post is, don't use intel burn test or prime 95. Haswell's run hot and those two stress tests will push the chip hard. Just use it normally, play games, if it crashes look at voltages.
