Hey guys

I have a question about oc'ing a 4770k on air.
How high I should aim?
What's the maximum safe temp with air cooling?
My case is Corsair Carbide 540 w/ Akasa Venom fans ( 3 140, 3 120 )
Prolimatech Megahalems w/ 2 Akasa Apache PWM fans
Avexir 8gb 2133 mhz ram.
Motherboard most likely will be a Gigabyte Z87X-OC.
And there will be 2 780s in there as well.

And before you say anything, watercooling is out of question here - I just had a small leak, fortunately no damage but scared me loads, so I don't want any watercooling in this case.

Thanks in advance for advice

4.5ghz is achievable but as you aim higher due to the die shrink and the way intel has used thermal contact on the cpu then its not worth the effort.

And check your default Vvore before you attempt any overclocking - that'll give you a ballpark of what the chip is capable of.
