Hi,

Last card i had was a x1950 Pro 512mb which were awful clockers, so i never bothered. Before that, i had a x800xt which i used to use ATi Tray Tools and ATi Tool for overclocking.

I've not really heard of these apps much at all these days, so i was wondering if they still are the main apps for GPU overclocking? If not, what is recommended. GPU temps are pretty decent (idle around 40), so i hope to get a pretty decent overclock if i can.

Many thanks. :)

yes I would simply start with overdrive in CCC, if you reach the overdrive limit before the card stops clocking you may want to move on to try something like amd gpu tool, or to do things really well then by editing the graphics card bios. But thats warranty voiding if you do it so I wouldnt recommend it to anyone not confident with OCing.

Just remember and run a benchmark and games to make sure the GPU is stable as the overdrive isnt always perfect. Reduce the clocks if necessary.

i have noticed on my 4850, the CCC can get a little erm carried away if u use the auto tune, i..e it says its accepted the speeds, but then crashes with artifacts etc. so have to reuce manually.
