hi, im new to overclocking and haven't got the slightest idea where to start so if you could put me in the right direction that would be great. my current processor is a amd 5600 x2 + running at 2.8ghz stock and im looking at overclocking to 3.00ghz. thanks

hello,

firstly, you waited all of 30 minutes until posting to see if anyone would actually reply to you. Atleast be patient and allow time for people to read and get back to you.

I'm no expert at oc either, but i read the beginners guide sticky at the top of this section and found it quite helpful. It gets you started and any other queries you may have you can then ask seperately later rather then just straight up asking how to do it.

Good luck!

right ive been playing around with it and i think Ive managed to get it stable at 3ghz. if you could please have a look a make sure everything looks OK to you. thanks :) 2.8ghz was stock multiplier was set on auto and frequency was set at 200mhz. all i have done is set mutliplier at 14x and frequency at 215 mhz. the cpu voltage is currently set on auto, should i change this ? also should i touch the ram voltage. ive ran prime 95 for an hour max temp was 68 using stock cooler.

For an extra 200mhz you would not need to up the cpu voltage, keep the ram as it is. If you can get the temps down a little bit it would be a bonus but will be fine if kept below 70. Go and enjoy the little boost lol

thanks for the reply mate. i now want to up it to 3.2. i know for i start i will need a good hsf, if you could recommend me one. so where would i go from here and what do i need to change. i believe i just change the frequency to 229mhz but not sure what to set the CPU voltage at and not sure what to do about the ram. thankss
