Done a build for a friend, using an x99 deluxe mother board and a 5930k. one down side is that all 8 memory banks are filled with 32gb of ram 8x4gb Kingston hyper x predator's.

From previous experience with x58 it didn't like all its memory slots being filled due to the memory controller being part of the cpu its self so need extra volts to the ram and cpu to get it stable.

Which brings me on to my next question what are the voltage limits and how far can ddr4 be pushed as this is my first time messing with it so what are the do's and do not's ?

Any extra opinions on the actual core its self how is best to overclock ? is it the same as 3930k on the x79 platform ?

Don't expect much from fully filled memory slots ;) even though ddr4 is lovely to clock but with your amount and all slots full, you will be lucky to clock them. Voltage wise I personally hold at 1.4v for everyday. Ddr4 is very very cool to a touch as well. Regarding CPU 4.4ghz is possible at 1.285 I think. NB clocks depending on chip can clock as high as the core itself.

Pb>I have the same setup as you besides all the ram slots filled I have only filled 4 slots. I have overclocked the cpu to 4.2ghz using 1.175 volts. I could probably get a little lower but it not generating stupid amounts of heat so I will leave it as it is. I also don't see the point of clocking to 4.4ghz with the amount of voltage jump needed. It fine for my needs. THe previous owner told me it does [email protected] and [email protected] but he was using custom water for 4.4ghz.

I am using a noctua dh15 to cool it.
