I have 4GB of 667MHz RAM and an E8500 so 333MHz x 9.5 = 3.18Ghz.

Does this mean I cannot overclock the E8500 as 333 is the maximum FSB for the RAM? I dont really understand how the RAM type affects the overclock?

DDR is effective of double actual (so 667 Mhz is 333 Mhz actual).

Intel FSB is effective of 4x actual (1333 FSB is 333 Mhz actual).

Correct, unless you want to overclock the RAM.

What ram is it? Something that clocks well like Crucial will allow you to hit 400 x 9.5 easy giving you 3.8Ghz, should go even more.

Its Corsair:

2 x 2GB Kit (2x1GB) DDR2 675MHz/PC2-5400 XMS2 Memory Non-ECC Unbuffered CL4(4-4-4-12) Heat Spreader Lifetime Warranty

Any good?

It WILL over clock just how far is the question, I would be very surprised if it couldn't reach 350/400 ish
