Hi guys,
I'm trying to overclock my 6700k and having some temperature issues. I tried a 4.4 overclock on it and my temperature is soaring to 85 on asus real bench and 94 on prime95! I tried the real bench without the overclock and it was maxing at 65.

I'm also having a little trouble with the voltage. My mobo is the Asus pro gaming z170, and I'm running the hyper 212 cooler with 3200mhz corsair ram.

When I go to overclock it I tick the airport overclock tuner to be xmp. Which picks up my ram. I sync all cores to 44. Change the cpu core to voltage to manual however the dram voltage underneath is 1.350 and the text colour is purple and it won't let me change it. Then If I try to change the cpu core voltage it will let me change it however after I do it overwrites it to be the same as the dram voltage.

Am I doing something wrong here!?

Just to add pretty much with both the overclock and no overclock the idle temp is sitting around mid 30s which I understand is pretty high too?

I followed the Asus 6700k overclock guide with the Z170 and it's easy to follow and I'm running 4.6 and idle temp is 26 to 28 (about 6 degrees above ambient inside temp). Maxed out it gets to around 52 to 55 .. look for that guide on the Asus website ..

Have you tried setting the core voltage to manual (and not changing it), then adding a +50mV offset to core voltage? Besides the obvious multiplier change, you really shouldn't need to alter anything else to get stable at around 4.5GHz.
