I have a 6700k that I've had since last year in February. I play games at 3440x1440 resolution with a evga 1080 hybrid. I'm happy with performance and the stability of my system.

I have a h115 cooler so kinda of a waste really to cool a CPU at stock. What sort of overclocking should I expect to achieve and will the effort be worth it?

If you are happy with performance why mess with it?

H115 is no better than a top tier air cooler, and if you overclock it will run hotter and fail sooner .. meaning you will have the expense of a new CPU cooler.

So no, I don't think it is worth doing now. Maybe in a year or two if you find you need more speed, but for now it is more than fast enough .. and you are happy. Don't mess with what is making you happy. :D

I'm going to go the other route and say overclock it just because :D

You won't keep the CPU long enough for it to fail due to the increase in voltage/heat and more is better, right?

Do you struggle to match your refresh rate when gaming? (100hz?) Go for it if it's a performance increase you can actually notice

My 6700k came with my bundle running really sweet even with my old 970 . Temps are in the 26 idle highest I’ve seen is 70 c.
