overclocking 680 GTX help!

I am currently attempting overclocking my 680 but when ever I get by about 1280 MHz I get either get a driver stopped responding error or the game I'm playing crashes which I'm guessing is a driver crash just without the warning. The card is definitely not overheating its not getting passed 60 oc at max load so what am I doing wrong?

You are doing nothing wrong and are trying to push the card past what the GPU is capable of.

1280Mhz is a decent overclock and many cards don't make this speed. What is your memory overclocked to also?

You'll also see a hell of a lot more that don't get near 1280

I can only get 1215 before it gets unstable. Still better than stock so not too fussed really.
