Im trying to overclock my 8600 using RivaTuner but i'm not really sure how high I should set the core, shader and memory clock. A few minutes ago, I set the clocks at fairly high speeds and had to restart my computer cause the screen went all grainy. So could someone recommend suitable clock speeds for my GPU.

Thanks

i got a 8600gt today in exchange for my 8400gs, (bloke needed a passive card). i have currently overclocked the ram up to 450mhz, stock was 400mhz, (its a 512mb ddr2 card).
core is fairing not too bad, doing 700mhz with no issues. on stock cooler hitting 64c load in atitool.
not too shabby.

just stick the core to 650mhz and work your way up from there.

Use Expertool rather than Riva, my lads 8600gt has clocked thus

Core 540 -> 690
Mem 700 -> 820
Shader 1188 -> 1570

Stable in the ATI tool test and during the FEAR test, ive dropped each setting back by 10mhz. thats using the 169.61 quadro drivers.
