Thought I might try out this HL2 cinimatic mod. I havnt been overcloking the PC or fiddling as its the same spec as this time last year.

I have loaded up rivatuner and ATI tool 0.27b3.
I relise that ati tool does not work fully so im using riva tuner to "up" my clocks and ati tool to heat the card up using the 3d part. - Im out of the loop with this OC thing. Just using my knowedge from a year ago.

Spec:

C2D 6550 @ 3Ghz
8gb ram @ 429mhz
Nvidia 8800gtx 320mb

default clockers are: core: 519mhz mem: 792mhz

Pic as follows:

Am I doing this right? and what sort of clock can I expect from the graphics card?
Grammer is horrid on this post - massive headache tonight.

My old 8800 GTS 320MB would do about 650MHz on the core stably (this was with linked shaders, IIRC the shaders were good for a bit more than that, though), and I managed to run 3DMark 06 at 681MHz, but that crashed in Crysis (those clocks were at 80% fan speed and I think hit about 80C under furmark). Usually I'd run with about 612MHz on the core, and a much higher shader clock than when it's linked (I think about 1700MHz), that gave better performance in the majority of tests that I ran. I'd advise only clocking one clock domain at a time, it's easier to see where instability is coming from that way and then you know your limits before trying to balance all the clocks as best you can for performance.

It's been a while since I did anything with that card, though so forgive me if I'm remembering it with rose tinted glasses. :p
