I have Palit 970 sli cards.. Would it be worth overclocking vs possible extra heat?

Overclocking 970 sli

Get them overclocked 
I ran 2x Gigabyte G1 970s in SLI for 6 months or so. Overclocked from day one with no issue.
Unless your putting extra volts through them additional heat shouldn't be a problem.
As a guide when I benchmarked Firestrike stock scored me 16.5k,overclocked scored 18.5k
2k increase for free is certainly worth it IMO.
