Have got a new case (antec p180), which does an excellent job at keep everything cool. Normal load CPU temp is under 40degrees, and under gaming its under 50 degrees. Therefore I think I will overclock this cpu to try and push some more work from it.
I have a DFI Lanparty UT Ultra-D motherboard and have been told this is good for clocking. However my weakest link is my memory, I have 2x 512MB unmatched Crucial ram.
What speeds have you got your 3500+ to? And what settings are best to use?

Any help appreciated, cheers.

I guess your RAM is PC3200? try setting 2.5GHz (230 x 11) with stock vcore. It should POST, if its unstable then up the vcore, change the memory divider to 133 or 166 and try keeping the RAM at 200MHz or just under ssuming it is PC3200 as I doubt it will clock too well.

Ive got a 3500+ and it will run stable at 2907MHz - 1.55v and upto 3246MHz for screenshots.

it means that one stick will run at 200mhz (pc3200) and one at 166mhz (pc2700)

To save clocking the memory, put a devider on so that your memory runs no faster than 166mhz, after you have found your max overclock on the cpu, then start to clock the memory.

Always clock 1 componant at a time, makes it a lot easier to determine whats not clocking well :D

My progress when overclocking. Might help ya.

In the end i ran

multi 11
fsb 227
cpu at 2497
ram at 208 with 2.5.3.3.8 1T 2.7volts using cpu/12 divider.
1.525volt for cpu was about 1.475v i think in actual due to mb droping volts like most asus does.
agp/pci lock 66.66/33.33

Prime stable 8 hrs, nothing crashed so was stable in my book.

Running 11 x 220 (2429) atm with my ram divider set at 166 mhz.
Everything seems to run ok, it up'd my 3dmark 06 score a fair bit and runs under 40 degrees idle.
