Afternoon all,

I've recently bought a HIS iCooler V ATI Radeon HD 5850 Turbo and for some reason I can't seem to be able to overclock it.

Using Afterburner 1.6.1 and trying to adjust the clock speeds but for some reason when I click apply it doesn't save.

I've only had NVidia cards before and this is my 1st time with an ATi card, tried using the CCC panel but it doesn't go up to the clocks I want.

Using this as a guide for overclocks.

Trying to go form 775/1150 to 800/1175.

The card you have does not have the hardware for volt control and it looks like the bios on the card is limited to a max overclock which is usually 775 core.

Good new is you can use afteburner unofficial overclocking method to bypass the bios restrictions on your clocks.

Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\MSI Afterburner, open MSIafterburner CFG File with notepad, look for EnableUnofficialOverclocking = 0, change the 0 to 1 save it, quit and restart afterburner, the overclock restriction should now be gone.
