ive seen that cards in things like the msi the 8gb vram ones have a custom vbios available to be able to overclock past the 135mhz, but, i was wondering if anyone had any information regarding the 4gb vram ones in the asus g751, googling has failed me, just a thread on techinferno detailing how to do it for the 8gb vram ones

thanks

i got a dodgy email from a guy on techinferno to give him my vbios but the pm isnt there in my account anymore so nada nada.

Nvidia did remove the ability to overclock Maxwell mobile GPUs
slv7 created a vBIOS that can remove the barriers
Try Tech Inferno's forum. But you need to join and contribute 5 decent posts before you can download. I cannot host the file for you as it's a violation of their rules

EDIT: See you were specifically asking for the 4GB one... I will put a post on TI for you

Well the 4gb version is soldered onto the mainboard so it will have poor overclocking at least thats my conclusion. The 8gb version is not soldered onto the mainboard and it has independant cooling VIA better made fans so it will overclock fine. You need to grab Prema mod for your gtx 980m and once you have his bios installed you can ramp up the clocks major time with a good fairness in terms of stability.

The 4gb cards have no modified vbios as of yet. Since they tend to be more constrained environments no one has bothered yet as far as I can tell.
