i've just plonked in a e2180... i set the mem speed to 667.. and attempted to raise the bus frequency to 240... but it cold booted, so i had to restart... i had been overclokign with this board with my old p4, but since it didnt work first time i'm wandering whter im missing something that i need to do?..

Ok ... so i set the mem speed to 667.. but upon rebooting it didnt boot.... so i've set it to auto...

I then set it to 2.20 , and it booted fine (220 bus speed)
I then set it to 2.6, and it booted, eventually, but said i had 3gb of ram, which i dont, as the mobo cant take that much, but then after the boot, it booted back onto the boot screen, but now the bios screen was frozen, with only the basic details aka processor speed, none of that stuff that loads up.. and it kept doing this, until i managed to reset it by a number of restarts and "turnings-off" it is now set to 2.20ghz, and has booted into windows fine... temps are all fine, as im using a 7freezer pro... so any ideas how i can get a stable 2.6 and above?..

i just hate doing this, because even though you know every time you get a cold boot, you manage to restart the settings, with relative ease, its that time before each boot, just waiting to see if its alright.... soo any ideas how i can get it higher (i cant get it up.. :P)... ugh...

Its simple, these boards DONT overclock.

At best you can get a 10mhz or so fsb boost from your overclock with DDR2 memory. With DDR memory you can get a little bit higher.

This board is not designed for overclocking and simply wont. I have tried and so have many others.

Sorry for the bad news but thats this board for you.

You can find a lareg thread for this board in the motherboards section if you want to read up more.

ive got a steady 2.4.. may try 2.5 in a bit.... to get better speeds should i tighten or loosen the ram timings?.. and should i disable spread spectrum ?
