I am considering an overclock on a Dell 1520.

T7250 @ 2GHz
Multiplier x10
2GB 5300 (333) @ 5-5-5-15

  • Has anyone tried this before?
  • Do you think there will be major issues with heat and battery life?
  • Is it possible with the bios?

I was hoping to push it to maybe 2.3 / 2.4 , or is that not realistic?

I have no experience in overclocking laptops so any advice would be welcome.

Thanks,

Gil.

oh well, thanks anyway.

It just means i'll have to buy a new laptop :D

How much do u think i could get for a dell 1520. 2GHz, 2GB, 250GB HD, 8600GT 2 months old?

Its not just the speed, its the size of the thing. I want something a bit thinner and lighter like an XPS 1530.

Although the extra power would be useful. I often have several hungry apps running at the same time, such as; Premier, Illustrator, Flash ect running at the same time. So the more power/speed the better for me for the editing/rendering ect...

Although another/cheaper option would be to throw in 4GB and upgrade to a 64bit OS.

I still dont like the bulk of the thing tho.
