Hi all, tried overclocking my E6300 a few days ago and it wouldn't stay with the options i set it at. I tried it numerous of times but it just wasn't working

Any tips / ideas on how to overclock it?

Thanks :o

What mother board you got?
You can get a 6300 to 2.8-3.2 easy with a good cooler that is :)

Gigabyte P31-DS3L with Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro

edit: just lowerd the speed to 2.06ghz and it has saved, ill slowly creep it up a little :)

What temps do you get at that? ^

Just put it to 2.16 and stressing it, CPU is at 42 (Core1 50, Core2 51)

Also, thanks for your help guys! :)

Did you take the cpu off auto volts? and set it to what it should be?
that would cause it to be that high..

mine is at this moment 25-27 thats with a tru cooler.

Yeah i took it off auto volts, its at 1.3v at 2.275ghz.

Also, how do i go about setting the ram to 1:1?

Have you tried pressing F1 on the main bios screen to see if you get the extra options?
most GA mobos do it.

I dont have your mobo but in the bios you should see a option for ram
for it also what ram you got and what is it running at now?
use cpu-z for this

Interesting, I have an original Gigabyte 965P-DS3 with Arctic Freezer 7 Pro and my CPU temps are similar to deuse.

Iirc in the BIOS on my board you have enter CNTRL F8/F1 or something to get access to the full FSB and volts settings, is that the same on yours?
