Overclocking a HD 7970

I was doing the above the other day and noticed that increasing the vram speed seemed to make quite a big difference compared to doing the same on a nvidia card.

Is this true and has anyone else noticed the same.

You'll see your scores go up in benchmarks with vram increase. There are some FPS increases but not as much as OC-ing the core. To be honest, It's fairly simple to increase the vram speed without much voltage change.

Tbh doing the VRAM offers very little gain, changing the core makes a hell of a difference.

I thought LtMatt or someone did some tests and found that OC'ing the memory delivered as much gains as OC'ing the core in BF3?

Not if you're cpu bottlenecked as apparently I am?
