Would like a few more megahertz but I use the on board Intel controller for my RAID 5, I'm concerned that instability with the overclock when I am experimenting could corrupt information on the RAID, is this likely to happen?

Overclocking can cause all kinds of instabilities. It is certainly possible that it could play havoc with your RAID setup.

Unfortunately where overclocking is concerned there is no guarantee as to what (if any) side effects you will see when clocking.

You would be pretty unlucky for it to corrupt your array to be honest, but it is a possibility.
